Kabarole District Leaders Hold First Ever Dinner 2016

The Kabarole district Leaders have held the first ever leaders dinner with the Ministers and MPs hailing from Tooro.
The dinner organized by the District chairperson KabaroleHon.Rwabuhinga Richard Abooki was held at Mountains of the Moon Booma in Fort Portal on Friday 28th October,2016.
It was aimed at teaming up with these ministers and MPs to remind them to follow up the presidential pledges and other National projects for the district to realize development.
Tooro is blessed to have three ministers Hon.AdolfMwesige of defense, Peace MutuzoRegius Minister of Gender and Social Development and Hon.TomButiime of Local government and MPs Hon. Alex Ruhunda Fort Portal Municipality,Hon. Silvia Rwabwogo woman MP and Hon.WilliamByaruhanga the Attorney General.
During the first ever dinner at Mountains of the Moon Hotel on Friday 28th October, 2016, Hon.Rwabuhinga Richard the District Chairperson said it was organized with the purpose of congratulating them upon the ministerial appointments and calling for support through enhancing lobbying for the development of the district using their positions.
He asked the ministers and MPs to rethink, focus on the needs of the district and sharpen their lobbying tactics for the district to benefit from the National cake.
Hon. Rwabuhingaasked Ministers and MPs to follow the presidential pledges that include the Construction and upgrading of Buhinga Stadium, the Industrial park, Construction of late Nobel Mayombo Memorial school, Government Takeover for Mountains of the Moon University, Electricity and water for Rwengaju model village, completion of Fort Portal Municipal Chambers, speeding up of Proposed Tourism City and tarmacking of Kijura road, Kabundaire-saaka, Kasiisi-Kyanga and the Eastern by-pass to reduce on heavy traffic in the Town center among others.
Hon.Adolf Mwesige the defence minister who was the chief guest commended the district chairperson for the initiative of the leaders dinner saying this sense of togetherness is god and it shows the leaders are focused are accountable.
The minister admitted that there has been a big gap between the ministers, MPs and district leaders but this forum is good for them to spell out their work plans and agenda for the 5years term with a goal of improved service delivery.
The minister pledged to work closely with the mps to follow up the presidential pledges but asked the district leaders to utilize every opportunity working with the ministers in their area to ensure implementation of projects and service delivery.
Hon.Ruhunda argued the politicians to encourage the youth in the entrepreneurship skills so as to get jobs and increase the Growth Domestic Product (GDP) of Fort Portal.
