1.0 Unit Overview

The Information Unit under the Administration Department is responsible for managing
communication, information systems, and ICT infrastructure for Kabarole District Local Government.
It ensures smooth information flow within the district and supports adoption and maintenance of
modern ICT systems for efficient service delivery. The unit also plays a central role in
public relations, media engagement, and community information dissemination.

2.0 Mandate

• Manage and maintain the district’s ICT infrastructure and networks.
• Support and administer core government systems including PBS, PDMIS, IFMS, PPDA system, FIS, and LAN.
• Provide timely communication to stakeholders, the public, and the media.
• Ensure data security, system integrity, and proper functioning of ICT equipment.
• Promote transparency and good governance through effective information dissemination.
