Livestock and Bird rearing

Table 6.3 shows that Piggery was the major livestock reared among the parishes in Kaborole district recorded at 27 percent, followed by goats at 26 percent and then local cattle at 24 percent.

At sub county level, the rearing of exotic/cross breed cattle was majorly reported by parishes in Karago T/C, Harugongo S/C, Ruteete S/C, Busoro S/C and Southern division at 33 percent each. On the other hand, local cattle were mainly reared by parishes in Bukuuku S/C, Kicwamba S/C, Mugusu T/C, Mugusu S/C, Kabende S/C, Hakibale S/C and Eastern division at 33 percent each. Poultry/birds were mainly reared by parishes in Karago T/C and Kiko T/C at 33 percent. Results further show that all sub counties were involved in rearing piggery except Kiko T/C.
